Electric Cars Not The Answer - According To UK Public

A survey undertaken by YouGov SixthSense has indicated that the vast majority of British car insurance holders do not believe that electric cars are a long term solution for sustainable transport.
The survey showed that a whopping 75% believe that electric cars are not the best solution for replacing petrol and diesel vehicles. However, with the price of fuel on the increase an alternative to petrol and diesel should be sought.
The research went on to indicate that two-thirds of the motorists questioned stated that financial incentives were the primary reason for buying a "green" or "eco-friendly" car. A clear indicator that in economically strained times value for money will always win out - as suggested by James McCoy, Research Director for YouGov SixthSense:
"We've seen time and again, that most consumers will only go green when it saves them money."
The report suggests that the majority of the British public believe that Hydrogen powered cars are a better alternative. In fact as many as 50% of respondents prefer this approach.
