A new report by the Transport Select Committee (TSC), looking into the price of young drivers car insurance has received a welcome response from the UK Government.
The Chair of the committee, Louise Ellman MP commented:
"Our work on the cost of motor insurance has put this issue on the Government's agenda. I am encouraged by the Government's willingness to tackle fraudulent whiplash claims and insurance fraud, but it’s vital we maintain adequate access to justice and that good intentions must be translated into action."
Ms Ellman added that the TSC will be watching to ensure that this happens.
The director of policy and research at the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), Neil Greig voiced his support; however, he also stated that a stronger effort needs to be made to make roads safer for young driver insurance holders.
Martin Andrews of the Credit Hire Organisation added his support stating that they were "satisfied with the government response to the TSC's recommendations."
