Drivers urged to stay safe in wet weather

April 27, 2012

Widespread vehicle damage across the UK is expected due to the heavy amounts of rain and strong wind. As a result many young driver insurance providers could be looking at an increase in claims.

Weather forecasters have issued warnings that the wet weather is likely to continue for a further week with five flood warnings still in place throughout South-West England. In addition to this over  40 have also been put in place in other parts of the UK.

Commenting on the state of the weather Paul Mott, weather forecaster as MeteoGroup, stated:

"There is already quite a lot of surface water on the roads, particularly in the Midlands, Yorkshire and North-East England so there will be lots of spray."

Young drivers are urged to drive with care and attention whilst taking to the roads on wet days to avoid accidents and claims on their young drivers insurance.
