City Drivers Are More Accident Prone

August 7, 2012

London and other city-based drivers are more accident prone, according to figures released by car parts website Breakeryard.com.

Unsurprisingly a number of cities around the UK followed - with Bristol and Glaswegian drivers prone to the largest number of accidents and probably car insurance claims as a result.

Other than these cities the largest number of problem areas proved to be those in the North of the country with Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester all making the top ten list.

Commenting on the site's findings, Matt Bott - founder of Breakeryard.com stated:

"City driving can be very stressful and many drivers get very heated, so that may be why some of the UK's biggest cities are in the top ten."

Mr Bott went on to add that "it's important to remember to take care when driving, paying attention when driving at all times, even though it may seem like the person in front of you doesn't deserve to have a license!”

In spite of this motorists in smaller towns around the UK proved to be the least accident prone and had the smallest number of breakdowns. Leamington Spa and Port Talbot were revealed to be the best in this regard.
