Business Drivers Taking A Risky Gamble

March 20, 2012

A recent study has indicated that those that drive for business could be more at risk as they attempt to meet ambitious company targets.

The study conducted by One Poll shows that 25% of employees tend to drive faster than the set road speed limit. More concerningly around 10% go through red lights or undertake slower moving vehicles.

Driving in this manner could lead to accidents that are likely to ramp up the cost of the driver's car insurance premium.

The study looked at how far companies and their workers heed road safety guidelines, however, the findings suggest that employees occasionally partake in illegal driving practices in an attempt to meet deadlines.

Around a third of respondents to the survey admitted to driving unroadworthy cars, such as one fifth of motorists ignoring a cracked windshield and as many as 10% admitting to driving with a slow puncture.

One Poll shows that by business drivers driving irresponsibly the accidents they cause costs the UK economy as much as £10 billion a year.
