Road Safety Day To Encourage Safe Driving
March 28, 2012
Businesses are being encouraged to organise a "Bright Day" amongst their workers in an attempt to discourage car insurance holders from driving too fast.
Brake, the road safety charity, has set the campaign up to try and reduce the number of people seriously injured or killed on UK roads - pedestrians and cyclists in particular.
On the day the company chooses to throw the event employees should wear brightly coloured, highly visible clothes. Members of staff are also encouraged to donate £1 each to the Brake charity.
Brake will supply the relevant materials to the company to help promote road safety. In addition they will organise local publicity.
It's believed that by adopting a Bright Day companies can help to make driving safer, reduce injuries and deaths as well as help to avoid car insurance claims.
Julie Townsend, a spokesperson for Brake commented:
"Bright Days are a fun, easy way for workplaces to promote vital road safety messages to employees and the wider community while raising funds for Brake."
