Upset motorists, angry at the rising cost of fuel prices, have pointed the finger at the Government, according to research by campaign group FairFuel UK.
According to FairFuel UK's study 90% of the 26,000 car insurance holders questioned felt that the Government played the biggest part in the high price of fuel.
The report also revealed that 75% of motorists believe that MPs are out of touch with the real world when it comes to the cost of motoring. In addition a whopping 85% of drivers believe that no challenge is more important to the UK economy than slashing prices on the forecourt.
Motoring personality and FairFuel UK spokesman, Quentin Wilson, commented:
"Our MPs and senior politicians just don't get fuel duty and the results of this extensive poll show that the public know it."
He added that "their failure to act and their apathy over what is one of this country's most important social issues tells us how removed they are from real life."
The cost of motoring has been a contentious issue with motorists across the country and high fuel prices continue to cause problems for many.
