British Motorists Unable To Check Oil

Research by motor oil company, Mobil1 has revealed that three in four British motorists do not know how to check their car's oil.
The research also revealed that 94% of drivers were not even aware of the benefits of using the right oil type for their car's engine, including improving fuel economy and making the engine last longer without breaking down.
As a result drivers could be causing themselves needless costs further down the line. With other motoring costs, such as car insurance, fuel prices, MOT and road tax it's important to ensure that the car is in good working order.
Commenting on the findings of the report, Dan McGoldrick, a spokesperson for the company said:
"It's clear from this research that drivers are largely unaware of the benefits of using synthetic motor oil - and in some cases people don't even have a basic understanding of the fundamental role played by engine lubrication."
Mr McGoldrick went on to add that by using the right oil drivers can save themselves expenses in the long run. "Our aim is to help make drivers aware that checking oil is essential for keeping cars running smoothly and efficiently."
