Drivers around Scotland and parts of Northern England are being subjected to terrible weather conditions.
The police in Scotland are urging drivers to take extra care on the roads as high winds and heavy rain impacts parts of the country - including the Grampians, the Borders, Lothians, Central, Tayside and Fife.
Winds are expected to blow by as much as 75mph in the East of Scotland and 55mph in the West. Drivers are urged to ensure that they are adequately covered by their car insurance in the event they have an accident whilst driving.
Commenting for Tayside Police, a spokesperson said:
"Anyone who is travelling should allow plenty of time for their journey, reduce their speed and drive according to the conditions."
They added that it's important to keep a safe distance behind vehicles in front and use dipped headlights when appropriate.
Wet weather is also impacting Northern England with the River Coquet in Northumberland flooding several building and impacting motorists attempting to drive on local roads.
